Good luck for A-Level Results Day

Updated: Dec 22, 2025

Dear Friend,

A-level Results Day can bring a lot of nerves and uncertainty, but it's important to remember that exam results do not define a future and that there are now numerous pathways to careers, that didn't exist before. We're sending our best wishes and encouragement to all students receiving their results tomorrow - no matter the outcome, there are many paths to success. For students planning to continue on to higher education, it's worth remembering that wherever they choose to study, UJC has a dedicated Chaplain in each region, with a clear mandate to:

  • Protect and promote a safe and happy Jewish life for every Jewish student

  • Empower and inspire student-led activism and programming

  • Provide Jewish students – on whichever campus – access to a UJC Chaplain

  • Deliver ongoing, non-judgemental welfare and pastoral care to all Jewish students

  • Offer a ‘home-away-from-home’ for all Jewish students

For students who know where they are going for university, we recommend reaching out to the Chaplain in your region to let them know you are coming - they are always delighted to hear from new students (and indeed their parents!) We have compiled a school leavers’ resource with some key questions that are typically asked by Jewish students when choosing a university, please share it with any school leaver trying to weigh up their options.

UJC Updates

  • We’re excited to share our brand new website with you! Whether you're a current or prospective student, a parent, or a supporter, we hope you find the new design easier to navigate and quicker to use.

  • We are delighted to welcome three new Chaplaincy couples to our team, who are eager to host freshers and returning students in their homes from September - and this means we now have 100% coverage across the twelve regions we serve. Look out for more information about them in our next newsletter.

  • UJC’s annual staff training seminar is taking place at the end of this month and we are really busy preparing a packed schedule of activities for both new and returning Chaplains. This is an important part of our team’s learning and development, giving everyone the opportunity to develop skills, share ideas and best practice.

Finally, something for our grads.

We are pleased to share details of the JLC’s upcoming ‘Spark The Future’ event on 8th September, giving people in their 20s the opportunity to imagine and design the future for Jewish life on their terms.

Good luck again for tomorrow and enjoy the rest of the summer,

With very best wishes,

Sophie Dunoff, Chief Executive Officer
